Terms of Service

Effective date: April 28, 2026
These Terms of Service govern your use of ASTRID, an AI-powered health information service operated by AstroDoc, Inc., available in three specialty agents — Medical, Dental, and Veterinary. These Terms apply to all three agents; where a provision applies only to a specific agent, that is clearly marked.

Acknowledgment and Acceptance

Quick Summary

This summary highlights key points for your convenience. By using ASTRID, you agree to all of these Terms, not just these highlights.

⚠️ Medical or Dental Emergency? Call 911 (US/Canada), 999 (UK), 112 (EU), or your local emergency number immediately. ASTRID cannot help with emergencies.

⚠️ Mental Health Crisis? Call 988 (US Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), 116 123 (UK Samaritans), or your local crisis line.

⚠️ Animal Emergency? Contact your veterinarian or nearest emergency veterinary hospital immediately. ASPCA Animal Poison Control: (888) 426-4435 (US, fee may apply). ASTRID cannot help with animal emergencies.

  • ❌ Not designed for livestock, production animals, or wildlife rehabilitation (Veterinary Agent)

Key Legal Provisions

  • Age: You must be at least 18 to use ASTRID independently.

  • Limitation of Liability: Our liability is limited as described in Section 10.
  • Privacy: AstroDoc does not store your conversations or sell your personal information. See our Privacy Policy.
  • No Clinical Relationship: Any clinical care resulting from your use of ASTRID begins only at the point of direct engagement with a licensed professional, not during your ASTRID interaction.

1. Acceptance of Terms

1.1 Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legally binding agreement between you and AstroDoc, Inc. (“AstroDoc,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your use of ASTRID, available at www.myastrid.ai, via mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the “Services”). The Services include three specialty agents — the Medical Agent, the Dental Agent, and the Veterinary Agent — each governed by these Terms.

By accessing or using the Services, or acknowledging the AI disclosure at the start of each session, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Services.

1.2 Modifications to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. For material changes, we will provide prominent notice and update the “Effective Date.” Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. If you disagree with modifications, discontinue use.

1.3 Additional Policies

These Terms incorporate by reference our Privacy Policy, our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy (for Washington State residents, see Section 10.4 of the Privacy Policy), and any other policies referenced herein.

2. Eligibility and Geographic Restrictions

2.1 Age Requirements

ASTRID is designed for adult users only. You must be at least 18 to use the Services independently. Where permitted by applicable law, a parent or legal guardian aged 18 or older may supervise a minor’s use and assumes full responsibility, but such use is not a substitute for age-appropriate guidance from a qualified clinician. ASTRID is not designed for pediatric health guidance; parents should consult qualified pediatric clinicians for children’s health concerns.

AstroDoc does not collect personal information from any user. If we become aware of underage use without appropriate supervision, we may terminate that access. No record will exist after the session ends.

2.2 Geographic Eligibility

In compliance with U.S. law, including OFAC regulations, the Services are NOT available to users located in, or residents or nationals of, the following countries or regions:

  • Cuba
  • Iran
  • North Korea (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea)
  • Syria
  • The Crimea, Donetsk People’s Republic, and Luhansk People’s Republic regions of Ukraine
  • Any other country or region subject to comprehensive U.S. sanctions as updated by OFAC

Additionally, the Services are not available where health information services are prohibited by local law or where AstroDoc cannot comply with local regulatory requirements.

2.3 Your Representations

By using the Services, you represent and warrant that:

  • You are not located in, and are not a resident or national of, any sanctioned country or prohibited jurisdiction
  • You are not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties, including the OFAC Specially Designated Nationals List
  • You will not use any technology (such as a VPN) to circumvent geographic restrictions if you are in a prohibited jurisdiction
  • Your use complies with all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations
  • For the Veterinary Agent: you are the owner, legal guardian, or authorized caretaker of any animal whose health you discuss with ASTRID, and you understand that ASTRID does not establish a veterinarian-client-patient relationship

2.4 Consequences of Violation

If we determine the Services have been accessed from a prohibited jurisdiction or in violation of sanctions, we will block further access and may report the violation to relevant authorities. Because ASTRID stores no user data, no record of prior use will be retained.

2.5 No Account Required

The Services operate without user accounts, registration, or sign-in. You are not required to create an account, provide an email, or submit personal identifying information. References to “your use” mean your interaction during a session, not membership in an account-based service.

2.6 User-Assumed Risk for Circumvention or Unauthorized Access

The Services are made available only in jurisdictions where AstroDoc has determined it can lawfully offer them. AstroDoc may suspend, restrict, or withdraw the Services from any region without notice and without liability.

If you access or attempt to access the Services from a sanctioned country, prohibited jurisdiction, a region where the Services have been withdrawn, or any location where AstroDoc has not authorized access — including by VPN, proxy, location-spoofing, or anonymization tools — you do so entirely at your own risk and without AstroDoc’s consent. You acknowledge and agree that:

  • AstroDoc has no authority, license, regulatory approval, or operational presence in those locations
  • Any such use is unauthorized and constitutes a material breach of these Terms
  • AstroDoc bears no liability of any kind arising from such unauthorized access
  • The protections in these Terms do not extend to prohibited or unauthorized use
  • AstroDoc may immediately terminate access, report violations, and pursue any legal remedies
  • You release and hold harmless AstroDoc from any claim arising from such unauthorized access, in addition to your indemnification obligations under Section 11

This Section 2.6 applies to first-time access from a prohibited location, continued access after Services have been withdrawn, and any access that bypasses AstroDoc’s geographic controls. Failure to detect or block any specific instance does not constitute consent or waiver.

3. Description of Services

3.1 What ASTRID Provides

ASTRID is an artificial-intelligence-powered information assistant operating through three specialty agents:

Medical Agent: Provides general health and wellness information; helps users understand health topics and medical terminology; assists in preparing questions for healthcare provider visits; offers educational content about health conditions, treatments, and wellness.

Dental Agent: Provides general dental and oral health information; helps users understand dental conditions, procedures, and oral hygiene; assists in preparing questions for dentist visits; offers educational content about preventive dental care and oral wellness.

Veterinary Agent: Provides general companion-animal health information; helps users understand veterinary topics, common conditions, and terminology; assists in preparing questions for veterinary visits; helps users recognize signs that may indicate their animal needs professional attention; offers educational content about preventive care, nutrition, and wellness.

3.2 Free of Charge

ASTRID is provided free of charge. AstroDoc does not currently display advertising, does not sell user data, and does not share user data with advertisers. If advertising is introduced in the future, these Terms and the Privacy Policy will be updated and users notified beforehand.

3.3 Service Availability

The Services are designed to be accessible globally, except in prohibited jurisdictions as described in Section 2.2. Availability may vary by jurisdiction. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation and reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time.

4. Critical Disclaimers

4.1 ASTRID Is Not Care

CRITICAL NOTICE — READ CAREFULLY:

ASTRID IS NOT A HEALTHCARE PROVIDER, DENTIST, OR VETERINARIAN. The Services do NOT provide medical, dental, or veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment; do NOT create any clinical or professional care relationship; do NOT replace consultation with licensed clinical professionals; and CANNOT perform physical examinations, order diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, or access your clinical records.

4.2 AI Limitations and Potential Inaccuracies

ASTRID MAY PRODUCE INACCURATE INFORMATION. AI technology has inherent limitations:

  • Responses may contain errors, outdated information, or be misleading
  • AI can generate false information presented as fact (“hallucinations”)
  • Information may not apply to your specific clinical circumstances or your animal’s specific condition
  • AI cannot directly observe symptoms, body condition, or behavioral signs that require hands-on examination
  • AI cannot interpret emotional, cultural, or individual factors with the depth a clinician can
  • Clinical knowledge evolves; AI training data has temporal limitations

4.3 Medical Agent — Specialty Disclaimers

The Medical Agent provides general health information for adults. It does not perform diagnosis, prescribe medications, interpret your specific lab results, or substitute for examination by a qualified physician, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, or other licensed provider. It is not designed for pediatric health guidance.

4.4 Dental Agent — Specialty Disclaimers

The Dental Agent provides general dental and oral health information for adults. It does not perform clinical examination, take or interpret X-rays, prescribe medications, recommend specific procedures for your case, or substitute for examination by a licensed dentist or dental specialist. It does not establish a dentist-patient relationship. Information about treatment options is educational; specific decisions require consultation with your dentist after appropriate clinical evaluation.

4.5 Veterinary Agent — Specialty Disclaimers

The Veterinary Agent provides general companion-animal health information. It does not establish a veterinarian-client-patient relationship (VCPR), which is the legal foundation for veterinary clinical care in most jurisdictions. Veterinary medicine involves species-specific complexity: medications safe for one species may be toxic or lethal to another, and foods safe for humans may be dangerous to pets. The Veterinary Agent cannot observe an animal directly, assess body condition, or detect clinical signs requiring hands-on examination. Breed-specific predispositions, age-related considerations, and individual animal factors require professional veterinary assessment.

The Veterinary Agent is designed for companion animals (dogs, cats, and common household pets) only. It is NOT designed for livestock, poultry, production animals, wildlife, or exotic species.

4.6 Mandatory Provider Consultation

YOU MUST ALWAYS CONSULT A QUALIFIED LICENSED PROVIDER.

By using the Services, you agree to:

  • Verify all information from ASTRID with a licensed clinician before making any care decisions
  • Maintain an established relationship with appropriate clinical providers for yourself and any animals in your care
  • Never delay seeking professional clinical care based on ASTRID’s information
  • Never use ASTRID as your sole source of clinical information or make significant clinical decisions based solely on ASTRID’s responses
  • Never administer medications, supplements, or treatments to yourself or your animal based solely on ASTRID’s responses

4.8 No Clinical Relationship

ASTRID is an information service only. No clinical, therapeutic, or professional care relationship of any kind — including doctor-patient, dentist-patient, or veterinarian-client-patient (VCPR) — is created, implied, or established through your use of ASTRID. If your use of ASTRID results in a referral or connection to a licensed provider, any clinical relationship begins solely at the point of direct engagement with that licensed professional. The ASTRID interaction that preceded it does not constitute any part of a clinical consultation, examination, diagnosis, or treatment.

AstroDoc does not provide, supervise, or control any clinical services rendered by third-party licensed professionals. Any care you receive as a result of a referral through ASTRID is governed solely by the terms and obligations of the provider delivering that care.

5. Artificial Intelligence Disclosure

5.1 AI-Generated Content

ASTRID is built on a proprietary AI infrastructure with multi-LLM referencing. AI processing partners are contractually prohibited from using user data for model training. AstroDoc does not publicly identify specific providers. All ASTRID responses are generated by AI, not human clinical professionals. Responses are based on patterns in training data and reference materials, not individualized clinical assessment. The AI does not have access to your records unless you provide information during a session; that information is processed in real time and discarded when the session ends.

5.2 Continuous AI Disclosure

In compliance with Article 50(1) of the EU AI Act and equivalent obligations in other jurisdictions, you are continuously informed that you are interacting with an AI system via: a persistent visual indicator in the chat interface, an explicit consent gate refreshed weekly, and language inside ASTRID’s responses where appropriate.

5.3 AI-Generated Content Labeling

In compliance with Article 50(2) of the EU AI Act, the persistent AI disclosure described above serves as the labeling mechanism for AI-generated content within the Service.

5.4 Training Data and Your Privacy

AstroDoc’s AI processing draws on publicly available clinical literature, licensed datasets, and curated reference materials. AstroDoc does NOT use your conversations to train any AI model, and processing partners are contractually prohibited from doing so. Because ASTRID stores no conversations, no user-conversation dataset exists.

5.5 No Automated Clinical Decisions

ASTRID does not make clinical decisions on your behalf. The Services provide information only, not recommendations for specific clinical actions. ASTRID cannot definitively assess the severity of your or your animal’s situation or determine whether emergency or specialist care is required — those decisions remain solely with you and your licensed providers. You have the right to request human review of any decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you; because ASTRID provides information rather than binding decisions, the practical scope of this right is limited.

5.6 EU AI Act Classification

ASTRID is a limited-risk AI system under the EU AI Act, not high-risk, as it does not perform diagnosis, prescription, treatment planning, or any function meeting Annex III criteria.

6. Restricted Uses

6.1 Universal Prohibitions

You must NOT use ASTRID for:

  • Any situation requiring immediate emergency attention
  • Any situation requiring real-time clinical examination or intervention
  • Any decision-making that ought to be made in consultation with a qualified clinician

6.2 Medical Agent — Restricted Situations

You must NOT use the Medical Agent for:

Medical Emergencies: chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding, severe trauma; loss of consciousness or altered mental status; suspected stroke, heart attack, or severe allergic reaction; injuries requiring emergency care.

Mental Health Emergencies: thoughts or intentions of suicide, self-harm, or harming others; psychiatric emergencies or mental health crises; acute psychotic episodes or severe dissociation. Contact emergency services or a crisis line immediately (see Section 4.7).

Pregnancy-Related Emergencies: labor and delivery; pregnancy complications or concerning symptoms; bleeding during pregnancy; reduced fetal movement.

Pediatric Health (children under 18): the Medical Agent is not designed for pediatric health guidance.

Complex Medical Conditions: cancer, oncology care, or chemotherapy; complex cardiovascular conditions; neurological disorders requiring specialist oversight; autoimmune diseases or rare genetic disorders; conditions requiring ongoing specialist care.

6.3 Dental Agent — Restricted Situations

You must NOT use the Dental Agent for:

Dental Emergencies: facial or neck swelling with difficulty swallowing or breathing (possible Ludwig’s angina); jaw fracture with airway compromise; uncontrolled oral bleeding; signs of severe systemic infection (high fever, confusion, neck stiffness); post-extraction uncontrolled bleeding in patients on anticoagulants. Contact emergency services immediately.

Same-Day Dental Care Required: tooth knocked out (avulsed) — time-critical, ideally within 30 minutes; severe dental abscess with significant facial swelling; broken tooth with exposed nerve and severe pain; severe unmanaged dental pain. Contact a dentist or hospital emergency department immediately.

Pediatric Dental Care: the Dental Agent is not designed for pediatric dentistry. Pediatric dental concerns should be addressed by a pediatric dentist.

Complex or Specialty Dental Conditions: orthognathic surgery; cleft lip and palate; head and neck oncology; severe TMJ disorders; severe sleep apnea; conditions requiring oral and maxillofacial surgery, periodontal surgery, or other specialist care.

6.4 Veterinary Agent — Restricted Situations

You must NOT use the Veterinary Agent for:

Animal Emergencies: difficulty breathing or choking; suspected toxin or poison ingestion; severe trauma or bleeding; bloat or GDV; seizures or loss of consciousness; inability to urinate; heatstroke; dystocia or birthing complications; snake bites or severe insect stings; sudden collapse or inability to stand. Contact your veterinarian or nearest emergency veterinary hospital immediately.

Livestock and Production Animals: the Veterinary Agent is for companion animals only. Livestock, poultry, and production animal medicine require specialized veterinary guidance.

Wildlife and Exotic Species: wildlife rehabilitation is subject to separate legal frameworks. Exotic species require specialist veterinary knowledge.

Complex Veterinary Conditions: oncology and chemotherapy; complex surgical recovery; endocrine disorders requiring ongoing monitoring; conditions requiring veterinary specialist or board-certified care.

6.5 Prohibited Activities

You may NOT:

  • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Services
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or access source code
  • Circumvent security measures or technological protections
  • Circumvent geographic restrictions if you are in a prohibited jurisdiction
  • Introduce malware, viruses, or harmful code
  • Use the Services for illegal activities
  • Provide false or misleading information
  • Misrepresent your age, identity, or location
  • Use ASTRID output to train competing AI models
  • Exploit the Services for unauthorized commercial purposes
  • Access the Services from sanctioned countries or prohibited jurisdictions
  • Use the Services in violation of any applicable laws or regulations

6.6 Automatic Safety Interventions

The Services may automatically detect potential emergency situations and display crisis resources, terminate conversations involving prohibited uses, redirect to appropriate emergency services, limit access from prohibited jurisdictions, and decline to engage with content that violates these Terms.

7. Your Content and Ephemeral Processing

7.1 Your Content

When you use ASTRID, you may share questions, symptom descriptions, or other information (“Your Content”). You retain ownership of Your Content and represent and warrant that: you have the right to share it; it does not violate any laws or third-party rights; you have obtained necessary consents to share information about others; and it does not originate from a sanctioned or prohibited jurisdiction.

7.2 Ephemeral Processing License

ASTRID does not store, retain, or archive Your Content. By submitting Your Content during a session, you grant AstroDoc and its AI processing partners a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to process Your Content in real time solely to generate a response during that session. This license terminates when the session ends. No retained copy exists for AstroDoc to use, license, or share afterward. AstroDoc may use anonymized, aggregated usage statistics — such as query counts by topic, time window, or region — for service-quality and safety purposes. Such data does not identify you.

7.3 Feedback

If you provide feedback or suggestions (“Feedback”), you grant us an unrestricted license to use, modify, and incorporate it without compensation or attribution.

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 Our Ownership

The Services, including all content, features, software, algorithms, designs, and intellectual property, are owned by AstroDoc and/or our licensors, including the ASTRID name, logo, and branding; all text, graphics, and visual elements; software and underlying technology; and AI models, prompts, and methodologies.

8.2 Limited License to You

Subject to compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Services for personal, non-commercial purposes. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

8.3 Copyright Concerns

If you believe material on ASTRID infringes your copyright, send notice to legal@astrodoc.com including: identification of the copyrighted work; location of the allegedly infringing material; your contact information; a statement of good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized; a statement that your information is accurate and you are authorized to act; and your physical or electronic signature.

9. User Conduct

9.1 Acceptable Use

You agree to use ASTRID only for lawful purposes in accordance with these Terms and all applicable laws in your jurisdiction.

9.2 Prohibited Conduct

In addition to Section 6, you agree not to: harass, abuse, or threaten others; submit defamatory, obscene, or offensive content; attempt unauthorized access to AstroDoc or third-party systems; interfere with or disrupt the Services; collect or harvest information without consent; promote illegal activities; or violate export control or sanctions laws.

10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

10.1 Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE; WARRANTIES OF NON-INFRINGEMENT; WARRANTIES REGARDING ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, OR COMPLETENESS OF INFORMATION; AND WARRANTIES THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.

10.2 Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

No Indirect Damages. AstroDoc will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or other intangible losses.

Liability Cap. AstroDoc’s total aggregate liability will not exceed $1,000.00 USD.

No Liability For:

  • Harm resulting from delayed clinical care or reliance on ASTRID information
  • AI-generated errors, inaccuracies, hallucinations, or inappropriate responses
  • Cross-species medication errors or species-specific safety errors in the Veterinary Agent
  • Adverse outcomes from treatments informed by ASTRID content
  • Third-party content, services, or technology
  • Unauthorized access despite reasonable security measures
  • Changes to AI models or service functionality
  • Violation of these Terms, including geographic restrictions
  • Use from a sanctioned country, prohibited jurisdiction, or region where the Services have been withdrawn, including via VPN, proxy, or circumvention technology
  • Actions taken by government authorities related to your use of the Services

10.3 Jurisdictional Variations

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of implied warranties or exclusion of certain damages. If these laws apply to you, some limitations may not apply. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

EU / UK: Nothing in these Terms limits AstroDoc’s liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

Australia: Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these Terms purports to modify or exclude those guarantees.

10.4 Essential Purpose

You acknowledge that the limitations in this Section 10 reflect a reasonable allocation of risk and are a fundamental basis of the bargain between you and AstroDoc.

11. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless AstroDoc, its officers, directors, employees, contractors, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from: violation of these Terms or applicable laws; Your Content or your use of the Services; violation of third-party rights; harm from failure to seek appropriate clinical care; sharing ASTRID information with others; misrepresentation of your age, identity, or location; or access from a prohibited jurisdiction, including via VPN, proxy, or other circumvention technology.

If you are obligated to indemnify us, we may, at our option, control any action or proceeding and determine whether to settle.

12. Dispute Resolution and Arbitration

12.1 Important Notice — Read Carefully

THIS SECTION REQUIRES BINDING ARBITRATION AND WAIVES YOUR RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL AND CLASS ACTION. YOU MAY OPT OUT WITHIN 30 DAYS OF FIRST USE UNDER SECTION 12.7.

12.2 Informal Resolution First

Before initiating formal proceedings, you and AstroDoc agree to attempt informal resolution. Send a written Notice of Dispute to:

AstroDoc, Inc.
Attn: Legal Department — Dispute Resolution
851 S. Rampart Blvd., Suite 110, Las Vegas, NV 89145
Email: legal@astrodoc.com

The Notice must include your name and contact information, a description of the dispute, and the relief you seek. Both parties agree to negotiate in good faith for 30 days.

12.3 Binding Arbitration

If informal resolution fails, any dispute, controversy, or claim arising from or relating to these Terms or the Services shall be resolved by final and binding arbitration, except as specified in Section 12.5.

Arbitration Terms:

  • Governed by the Federal Arbitration Act (9 U.S.C. § 1 et seq.)
  • Administered by JAMS under its Comprehensive Arbitration Rules
  • Conducted by a single neutral arbitrator
  • Held in Las Vegas, Nevada, or another mutually agreed location, or by videoconference
  • Conducted in English

Costs: AstroDoc will pay filing, administration, and arbitrator fees for claims under $10,000, unless the claim is found frivolous. Each party bears its own attorneys’ fees unless awarded by the arbitrator.

12.4 Class Action Waiver

YOU AND ASTRODOC EACH AGREE TO BRING CLAIMS ONLY IN AN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY. Neither party may participate as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, or representative proceeding; consolidate claims with others; or have an arbitrator preside over any representative or class proceeding.

If this waiver is found unenforceable, the entire arbitration agreement shall be void for that proceeding, which must proceed in court.

12.5 Exceptions to Arbitration

The following are NOT subject to arbitration: claims within small claims court jurisdiction; actions seeking injunctive relief to protect intellectual property; and claims that applicable law prohibits from arbitration.

12.6 Jury Trial Waiver

IF FOR ANY REASON A CLAIM PROCEEDS IN COURT, YOU AND ASTRODOC EACH WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL.

12.7 Opt-Out Right

You may opt out of this arbitration agreement within 30 days of your first use of the Services by sending written notice to:

AstroDoc, Inc.
Attn: Arbitration Opt-Out
851 S. Rampart Blvd., Suite 110, Las Vegas, NV 89145
Email: legal@astrodoc.com (Subject: “Arbitration Opt-Out”)

Because the Services do not require accounts, identify yourself by full legal name, approximate date of first use, and geographic region, with a clear statement that you opt out. AstroDoc will treat the postmark or email date as the effective date. If you opt out, AstroDoc will also not be bound by the arbitration provisions as to you. Opting out does not affect other provisions of these Terms.

12.8 Mass Arbitration Provisions

If 25 or more similar arbitration demands are filed, JAMS Mass Arbitration Procedures shall apply. Claims may be grouped into batches of up to 50 for bellwether proceedings. Outcomes of bellwether arbitrations may inform resolution of remaining claims.

12.9 Regional Dispute Resolution Provisions

European Union: EU consumers may also bring proceedings before the courts of their member state of residence and invoke mandatory consumer protection laws of their country.

United Kingdom: UK consumers may also bring proceedings before the courts of their country of residence.

Australia: Nothing in this section limits any rights under the Australian Consumer Law to bring proceedings in Australian courts.

13. Regional Compliance

ASTRID’s stateless architecture means AstroDoc holds no personal data. Most jurisdictional privacy frameworks confer rights such as access, correction, deletion, and portability that apply to data the controller holds — because no data is held, the practical scope of those rights is narrow. The right to be informed about processing, the right to object, and the right to lodge complaints with supervisory authorities apply regardless, and AstroDoc honors those rights for all users. Detailed regional treatment is in our Privacy Policy.

13.1 United States

FDA Status: ASTRID is NOT a medical device, dental device, or veterinary device as defined by the FDA. ASTRID is a general wellness and information product that does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

Mental Health Restrictions in Illinois and Nevada: Due to state regulations, ASTRID does not provide information regarding mental, emotional, or behavioral health concerns to residents of Illinois or Nevada. Users with mental health concerns in these states should consult licensed mental health professionals.

Washington State: AstroDoc does not collect consumer health data of Washington residents within the meaning of the Washington My Health My Data Act. AstroDoc does not share or sell consumer health data, does not engage in geofencing of healthcare facilities, and does not maintain any consumer health data store. See Section 10.4 of our Privacy Policy for the standalone Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy required under MHMDA.

California: California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA as detailed in Section 10.3 of our Privacy Policy. AstroDoc does not “sell” or “share” personal information within the meaning of the CCPA.

Veterinary Practice Regulation: Veterinary practice in the United States is regulated state-by-state. ASTRID does not establish a VCPR, which is legally required before veterinary treatment in most U.S. states. ASTRID is an informational tool and does not constitute veterinary telehealth.

13.2 European Union

For EU users, AstroDoc complies with the GDPR and the EU AI Act. ASTRID is positioned as a limited-risk AI system under the AI Act. In compliance with Article 50, all ASTRID responses are AI-generated and users are continuously informed of this. See Section 5 of these Terms and Section 5 of our Privacy Policy.

ASTRID does not recommend, prescribe, or advise on veterinary medicinal products (EU Regulation 2019/6). Users should consult veterinarians registered with their national veterinary authority.

13.3 United Kingdom

For UK users, AstroDoc complies with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. ASTRID does not replace NHS services or qualified UK healthcare providers (General Medical Council, Nursing and Midwifery Council, or other UK clinical regulators); dentists registered with the General Dental Council (GDC); or veterinary surgeons registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS). Under the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966, only registered veterinary surgeons may diagnose disease or prescribe treatment for animals in the UK.

13.4 Australia

For Australian users, AstroDoc complies with the Privacy Act 1988 and Australian Privacy Principles. Medical and dental users should consult clinicians registered with AHPRA. Veterinary users should consult veterinarians registered with their state or territory Veterinary Practitioners Board.

13.5 Canada

Canadian users should consult clinicians licensed by their provincial regulatory body — provincial colleges of physicians and surgeons for the Medical Agent, provincial dental colleges for the Dental Agent, and provincial veterinary bodies for the Veterinary Agent. AstroDoc complies with PIPEDA and applicable provincial privacy laws.

13.6 New Zealand

New Zealand users have rights under the Privacy Act 2020. AstroDoc does not retain personal data of New Zealand users. New Zealand users should consult clinicians registered with the appropriate New Zealand regulator (Medical Council, Dental Council, or Veterinary Council of New Zealand).

13.7 Other Jurisdictions

Users in all other jurisdictions are responsible for ensuring their use complies with local laws. AstroDoc makes no representation that the Services are appropriate or available in all locations. Access from prohibited jurisdictions is strictly forbidden. For privacy-related rights not addressed above, contact privacy@astrodoc.com.

14. Export Control and Sanctions Compliance

14.1 U.S. Export Controls

The Services may be subject to U.S. export control laws. You agree not to export, re-export, or transfer the Services or related technical data to any country, entity, or person prohibited under U.S. export control laws.

14.2 Sanctions Compliance

You represent and warrant that you are not in, controlled by, or a national or resident of any country subject to comprehensive U.S. sanctions; not on any U.S. government restricted party list (including OFAC’s SDN List, the Commerce Entity List, or State Debarred List); and will not use the Services in violation of U.S. sanctions or export control laws.

AstroDoc reserves the right to report suspected violations to the appropriate authorities.

15. General Provisions

15.1 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, without regard to conflict of law principles. This does not deprive you of mandatory consumer protections under the laws of your residence.

15.2 Venue

Subject to Section 12, any legal action must be brought in the state or federal courts in Clark County, Nevada. You consent to the jurisdiction of such courts.

15.3 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and other incorporated policies, constitute the entire agreement between you and AstroDoc regarding the Services.

15.4 Severability

If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force.

15.5 No Waiver

AstroDoc’s failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver. No waiver is effective unless in writing and signed by AstroDoc.

15.6 Assignment

You may not assign these Terms without AstroDoc’s written consent. AstroDoc may assign these Terms to any affiliate or successor without restriction.

15.7 Force Majeure

AstroDoc is not liable for failure or delay due to causes beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, terrorism, pandemics, cyberattacks, government actions, or infrastructure failures.

15.8 Termination

By You: You may discontinue use of the Services at any time.

By AstroDoc: AstroDoc may suspend or terminate access immediately and without notice if you breach these Terms; are located in or access the Services from a prohibited jurisdiction; misrepresent your age, identity, or location; engage in harmful conduct; or AstroDoc is required to do so by law or determines continued provision poses a legal, regulatory, or reputational risk.
